Spring Green Trustees Calls for Discussions - CIC Calls for Special Meeting to Buy Tower Site!
The Sauk County Communications Infrastructure Committee (CIC), which normally holds its regular meetings on the first Wednesday of every month, has scheduled a special meeting for Tuesday September 21. The agenda for this meeting includes authorizing the purchase of the Thuli Road tower site.
This move by the CIC immediately follows the action by the Village of Spring Board of Trustees on September 8 which unanimously approved a letter calling on the CIC and all other parties to work together to find a solution to the dispute over the tower's location. Without responding to the Village Trustees, the CIC is moving ahead with its plan to purchase the land.
We call on all supporters of preserving the river and those who want the best solution to our communications needs to attend this meeting and contact public officials to express support for the Village of Spring Green Trustees request. The moves by the CIC should be stopped and discussions should begin. At the September 1 CIC meeting in Spring Green, Phil Raab the county's Communications Technician stated, "the farther away from the bluff that the tower is moved, the better the coverage" and "Nothing would make me happier than to be able to move the tower to downtown Spring Green".
The CIC meeting is scheduled for Tuesday September 21, 2004 at 4:30 PM at the Sauk County Courthouse at 510 Broadway Baraboo, Wisconsin, C-04 EOC Meeting Room. Please attend this meeting!
Please forward this information to everyone you know that is interested in this issue. Due to the short notice of the CIC's special meeting there is no other way that the citizens will be informed of their action in time to respond.
