Brown Recluse Spider Bite

My wife was bitten on the back of her neck. She immediately went to her family physician. He did not think that is was a brown recluse bite. He thought that it was a boil. He told her to treat it with warm heat. It got so painful that she went back after it started ulcerating and puss was coming out of the wound. He immediately said that she needed to go directly to see a surgeon. That very same day they did and out patient surgery to remove the infected skin. She is still healing from the bite.
