Brown Recluse Spider Bite

First symptoms were simply adrenaline rush.. flushing, vasodilation No pain. By day 2, began seeing red, white and blue sign behind right knee and slightly below. Also began major allergic response, hives, dark urine, heart rate in the 140's +, BP elevation. Currently at day 8, site rotting, painful, especially when knee or thigh is bent. Driving is excruciating, shooting, burning pains in site and at least 7 inches above and below.

This was my second brown recluse bite, the first 4 years ago on the antecubital, didn't cause nearly the damage.

6/17/05 General achiness, nausea, diarrhea, no appetite. Totally exhausted.

6/19/05 can't sit with leg bent at all, not even recliner. Can drive about 5 - 7 minutes before the pain is burning through the leg

6/20/05 General practicioner says it needed debriding.. off to the plastic surgeon.
6/21/05 Plastic surgeon questions BRS diagnosis.. says possible other type of spider with partial venomation? keep clean and covered... Starting to be able to sit and drive with less pain. wound is hard and about 3/4 inch around it is hard. Nausea, diarrhea, exhaustion, insomnia. (Partly because there is no way to lay without hurting it)

6/24/05 made the mistake of covering ischar (black rotting area) with antibiotic ointment. Major pain! (lasted 2 days.. like a fresh rug burn the entire time.)

6/28/05 Plastic surgeon says it is healing nicely systemic effect nearly gone, still terribly nauseous and exhausted! Wound is still hard.. No real drainage.

7/5/05 Plastic surgeon down to every other week.. wound is filling in beautifully.. Still lots of systemic effects.. exhaustion, reflux, etc. Possibley some of it from the steroids, who knows.

7/11/05 down to just the teardrop part of the wound. Had to stop the dressing on it, but since it's not draining, guess it will have to do. Wound up with tape burns from the dressing.
