I have many allergies and have reacted to spider bites in past years but this is one of the worse. I have 4 other bites on the other arm but they have not become as pronounced but it takes a few days to get full blown. They itch very much and I have been taking benadryl at night and claritan in the day. I have not been to the doctor this time not yet. I did not know that I had been bitten. I was working in my flower beds and pruning some trees and shrubs. I did not see the spider when it bit me or feel a bite -- I never have felt a spider when it bites and never know until later. I know there were many spiders and many spider webs where I was working.

I have been to the doctor twice. I am now on cortisone by mouth, Benadryl 50 mg every 4 hours, cortisone ointment. The itch continues at intervals (I call it itch spasms) and feels like I have my arms in a hornets nest. Ice packs are the only thing that controls the stinging itch.
