11/7/2005 Started out with high fever on Thursday Oct 20..Friday Oct 21st had red area on right leg on the calf area.. By Saturday Oct 22nd became a red swollen area, hot to the touch, couldn't put pressure on the leg by walking so I went to the ER, they treated it as Cellulitis..Sunday I had a bubble on the swollen area, Monday I went back to ER for Recheck and was admitted for 3 days with IV antibiotics to treat it..Got out Thursday morning with prescrition for Keflex, was finished with this yesterday Sunday Nov 6th..Went to Family Doc for followup, said it was definitly an agressive spider bite, need to go in tommoro to plastic surgeon for debreement..
11/08/2005 Well today I went into the skin plastic surgeon and he did confirm that I was bitten by a brown recluse.. I am to use ointment on it with a wet to dry dressing, plus take keflex 250 mg two times a day..Then go in for a recheck next week.. It might require a skin graft taken from my hip.. I hope and pray we don't have to go this route.. I really fear this...
11/21/2005 Feeling alot better.. The bite area is healing nicely.. Dr had me on keflex and a wet to dry dressing, also used ISOSORB on the wound area and that debreed the area in about 2 weeks time.. Don't need to wrap the area anymore since the scabbing is gone and it is starting to look more normal, Dr told me it may take 1-2 months to get full color bag in leg...
4/19/2006 Feeling alot better...The area is still a brown area where the bite occured. I will probably have this scar for a long time. At least I didn't have to have any skin grafts.
11/03/2006 Well I passed the 1 year point since I had my spider bite. I have a permanet scar on my leg from that spider bite. The area does itch on occasion.
