On the day of the bite I have no recolection as to when or where it happened. I work at a home office and the irony is we own a pest control company. The chemicals are stored nearby so I never thought I would be biten in my office or home. I, like everyone else, thought it was a pimple. It was right under the arm of my glasses so it was painful right away. By the end of the day when my husband came home, he noticed that my skin was sweeling from under my glasses. When I woke up Thursday, my face looked like I had been hit with a bat, completely swollen the size of a baseball. Just puffy all around the area. The red area had stayed central to the little "hole" in the back of the hard knot that seemed to be the point of entry.

On Friday, I had to go to the doctor because the pain was so freakin intense, plus the swelling had closed my eye. It was now swollen to larger than softball size, but the red, hard, knot was still half dollar size. SO MUCH PAIN! Doc gave me a shot of Rocephin. I woke up on the floor. My 3 year old ran to get a doc, and I advised them that I had passed out and hit the floor. They took my vitals and all was well, but it was the pain of the bite AND the damn shot that made me pass out. Gave me some scripts, said come back tomorrow. The puffiness of the whole face was gone Saturday, but the pain was worse and the red lump was severe. I was a big baby to the pain. Gave me another Antibiotic shot, and a pain shot of Demerol, and Phenergrin with Lidocaine so I wouldn't pass out again. Geez, you'd think that would help, but just made me dizzy, still had pain if you can beleive that.

I covered it with a bandaid and put Neosporin on it. This made the "hole/scab" soft, and on Sunday, when I took off the bandaid, it began to ooze. I have never seen so much white stuff come from anything before! So I keep it covered now and soft so that the pressure can release at will, and that feels much better.

I went yesterday and the doc tells me that he is sure it's a Recluse bite. Being in pest control, I am POSSITIVE that it's not a recluse bite because those and black widows are flesh eaters, and the "hole/scab" never got any bigger. I beolieve that it was indeed a bug bite, probably a spider, but not a recluse or a widow. My flesh is fine, and I will need no cosmetic surgery. Today it's much smaller, and still hurts but I feel now that I am on the healing path. I have enough antibiotics in me to heal a small country!! I have had a total of 5 shots. So, never found the culprit, and still have no answers from the doctor, but to be honest, the doctors have never ever had an answer for anything when I have been sick.

9/18/06 I started this file this morning, and insisted that it is not a recluse bite. I could be wrong. I have added some pics of a few minutes ago, when the "scab" came off. I washed my face as usual, and the scab, which looks like a "plug o' booger" wiped right off, and it is not full of ooze as I thought it was. It is now a HOLE, with skin damage. The flesh is kinda all messed up. It will leave a nasty scar, but no cosmetic. So, I shall wait and see what happens to this hard, painful, red lump that now has a HOLE in it.

Sept 25, 06

I cannot beleive it, but I woke up yesterday with yet another bump. I don't think that this is a spider bite, as my house is perfectly emaculate, and our bed is a brand new $2000 bed, so it's not bed bugs, or a nasty messy house. We have spring cleaned as we do quite often because my husband and I are both sort of compulsive about being clean. Hate clutter and we are moving so we have organized everything!

This new bump came in like a pimple. It hurt under the skin for a day or two, then turned into a little red bump, but never has created a "head". I can see a white spot under the skin, so I actually sterilized a needle last night and poked it to see if it was in fact a pimple. BUT NOTHING CAME OUT. So, I swabbed it with rubbing alcohol, put the Bactroban on it and covered it with a bandaid so it could soak in the cream. This is very hard under the skin again, super red, as you can see in the photots, and I cannot touch it anymore, it hurts so freakin bad! I am not gonna go to the doctore this time, though. It cost me over $400 last week with the other bite (I am one of the lucky Americans that has no health insurance). All those painful shots, no way. If I go anywhere, it will be to a dermitologist, because I think this one is different. I have begun taking the Amoxicillin again, only because I have 4 days worth left. I don't know what the hell is going on, but since I shared my bite story with you all, I thought I would share this mistery too.

My goodness. I must have the worst luck ever. So, last night when I washed my face, I noticed two little white dots. Right on the top of this new bump. I will go to the doc only to re-up my biotics, got the damn $56 Bactroban, and again the Daqrvacet is not helping the pain. My uncle and I have concluded that these could be any kind of spider, it's just how my body reacts to the bites. Could be a Wolf Spider, cousin to the Recluse, or Sun Spider, smaller and thinner cousin to the Recluse. My skin is very fair, and I have always been anemic, meaning my immune system pretty much sucks, so anything that gets ahold of me will react differently than a "healthier" person. My daughter is severly allergic to bees, and must have an anaphalactic shot immediately when stung, but my husband and I are not. It's all in one's body. But the two little white spots on this thing tell me that it's obviously a stupid spider, so being in the pest control business, we are going to fog the whole house and see.

IT'S 2007, I REALLY THOUGHT I WAS DONE WITH THIS STUFF. I HAVEN'T TAKEN ANY PICS YET, BUT MY GOODNESS. I HAVE ANOTHER BITE, ON MY CHIN THIS TIME. IT STARTED AS A TINY BLEMISH, AND I
