On July 10, 2008 Spring Green was visited by Gov. Doyle, FEMA, US Army, State of Wisconsin, Sauk County and local Spring Green government officials. They were here to inspect the flood damage of the past month. All of the photos on these pages were taken on July 10, 2008. All photos and captions are by Mark Culverhouse.
Wisconsin's Governor Doyle and other officials arrived in Spring Green by military helicopter which landed at the River Valley Schools campus.
After their first meeting with the media the group's motorcade left to visit the Prairie Subdivision north of Spring Green.
Some local residents and a River Valley School class watched the helicopter land on the school grounds.
After the politicians left the kids and residents had a great time getting a close-up view of the chopper.
The members of the chopper crew showed everyone the chopper and answered many questions.
One chopper blade costs $100,000.
