Dear Editor,
The Spring Green Town Board is attempting to approve a large number of new or amended Town Ordinances governing the town’s long-term programs for today’s residents and our next generations. They have stated in poorly announced special meeting along with their appointed lawyer on September 26th these new ordinances will be available to the public for review.
Their statement is these documents will be published in the Home News as document numbers only without description, but will be available to the Town residents at the Town Hall on request or at the Spring Green Library. This stated because they do not have a budget to place the documents for public review in the local paper and do not have a public web page. As of noon October 1, these documents are not available at the library for public review.
What are the elected officials hiding from the town residents? Are they feared of public comment and hiding the truth to the residents who voted them into this office?
These new ordinances affect us all and we all need to be involved in the decisions of a few elected or appointed officials affecting all of our lives. The Town Board meeting is scheduled for Thursday, October 4 at 7:00 PM, be there and be part of our future.
The documents will be available on the River Valley Concerned Citizens web page http://www.highway60.com/rvcc/ as RVCC has paid the Spring Green Town Board for these documents to offer the public what the Town Board would not make available to all to review.
Plan to attend the Thursday, October 4th Town Board meeting and also
the Spring Green Plan Commission meeting Tuesday, October 9 at 7:00 PM to do
your civic duty. Voice your concerns and support our town.
Regards,
Mike Birr
