Dear Editor,
I humbly stand corrected as to the availability of "draft" copies, as stated in the Letter to the Editor, Wednesday October 3rd, of the new Spring Green Town ordinances for our Town residents. As stated in the response by the Town's lawyer, "the code of ordinances will be made available when the Town has finalized its proposed version of the code."
I thank the Town lawyer for responding to me, as our Town Chairman did not have the fortitude to do it himself as an elected official. If that’s the type of open communications they offer we the residents, it is no wonder we the residents are treated like mushrooms.
The lawyer also states in her letter: “From the beginning of this project the Town has notified the public in accordance with Wisconsin Statutes”. Now does that not give you the warm and fuzzes? A twenty-four hour notice for a special Town workshop meeting meets the Wisconsin Statutes but also allows the Town Board to move without public comment.
To meet the Wisconsin Statutes the Town Board posts the notice of meetings on the door of the Town Hall and at the Spring Green post office. I suggest everyone run to the Town Hall or the post office every afternoon at 5:00 PM to see if the Town Board has decided on another special meeting.
Regards,
Mike Birr
